What is the Best Way Forward for the U.S. in the War in Ukraine?
A summary of my conversations with America First conservative congressional candidate Andrew Badger discussing this important topic.
(Author’s Note: This article has been updated to include a link to my May 24th video interview with congressional candidate Andrew Badger on his Badger for Utah podcast)
While U.S. leaders continue to misleadingly claim that Ukraine is winning its war against Russia, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recently admitted that the Russo-Ukrainian war is not a stalemate because Russia continues to make incremental gains towards achieving their military objectives. This is despite the fact that the $54 billion in aid, the U.S. Congress has authorized be sent to Ukraine represents more than nine times as much money as they spend on their military each year. Given the reality in which Ukrainian forces are significantly overmatched by Russian forces in terms of the firepower and military capabilities they can bring to bear, it is unlikely that any amount of additional U.S. military aid will make a meaningful difference in changing the course, let alone the outcome, of the war.
On May 17th, I had a great discussion on the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War with America First Conservative candidate Andrew Badger, who is running for Congress in Utah’s 1st Congressional District, on the Jon Harvey show. Click here to listen to the interview, which begins at minute 29:45 of the recording, to discuss the best way forward for the U.S. in bringing the war in Ukraine to a satisfactory conclusion.
We then followed up this discussion with a video podcast interview on May 24th which you can watch here.
We talked about the fact that the risks of potential Russian nuclear escalation are continuing to increase the longer the war goes on and that U.S. leaders seem entirely oblivious to the danger. The Director of Central Intelligence, William Burns, and Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, recently testified to Congress that Russian President Vladimir Putin would likely use nukes if he perceives he is losing the war in Ukraine which poses a problem because Biden’s stated war aim is to make Russia lose so decisively as to eliminate its ability to wage war against its neighbors. Thus, Biden’s policy will have the effect of maximizing the chances that Russian will escalate to the nuclear level to win an overwhelming victory over Ukraine.
