Transitioning the US from a global empire back to a constitutional republic and hemispheric superpower could help ensure a just and lasting peace with Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.
Exceptional analysis of the NSS shift from global interventionism to hemispheric focus. The Triple Entente idea with Russia and India is intresting but dunno if the joint chiefs will ever let that happne given their institutional bias toward Europe-centric security. Still, prioritizing homeland defense over endless NATO commitments makes tactical sense.
I am sure you are right. The Joint Chiefs would support a US alliance with India but oppose a Triple Entente that included Russia because they have been trained during their entire careers to view Russia as an implacable enemy not a potential strategic partner. The only implacable enemies we face are the PRC and the DPRK but we should seek peaceful co-existence with them just as Reagan pursued a policy of peaceful co-existence with the USSR. That said, the Joint Chiefs tried to nix the NSS and NDS but failed so if Trump wanted to align with Russia and India they would not be able to stop him if he demonstrated the political courage to do so.
I think I see what the plan is. Foment insurrection in Iran with two main objectives (following upon the regime change). Acquire control over Iran's oil. In the process of attacking Iran kinetically, provide a plausible cover story for an internet problem in the US (another emergency). It will be a false flag, and be blamed on Iran (easy to do, since they've threatened retaliation for any attack on themselves). The problem reaction solution to the internet emergency will be Digital ID. There will be no escape from that for the rest of us. Instant totalitarianism, and anybody who doesn't like it will be made homeless and destitute.
Trump has militarized our entire foreign policy in furtherance of the warfare state and furthering America's empire. Lately, it seems he is attacking or threatening a new country every week. That may not be a huge problem when we are talking about small powers like Denmark or medium powers like Venezuela but when we are dealing with potential nuclear great powers like Iran, the blowback from his new wars has the potential to be existential to the US. But if he sticks to his NSS and pulls out of Eastern Europe and the Middle East (refraining from striking Iran) and negotiates a peace deal with Russia over Ukraine and with China over Taiwan, US security will be largely guaranteed for decades to come.
