What the hell is wrong with Biden..........negotiate. A stubborn geriatric/old school warmonger.

Putin has been pushed so hard I wouldn't blame him for escalating attacks on the US

How come the US is arming Ukraine? What the hell has this to do with the US?

Are their any rational humans in control?

How come their are other counties fighting in Ukraine? This is a red line!

Stop this nonsense.

That was a very sobering analysis of the present situation that leads me to despair as the West are in the grip of the decadent phase of the Tytler Cycle without any way out . If the West think they can engage in nuclear poker and brinkmanship with Putin, or God forbid, the Chinese over Taiwan , like we did during the dark days of the cold War then it's curtains for us ; back then we had real statesmen as leaders like Truman, Eisenhower and the great Curtis Lemay with experience and gravitas , but now we have political pygmies , educated idiots and fantasists who will get us all killed . They think they can engage the Russians in a form of Russian Roulette and win ; they assume the Russians are bluffing but they are not ,... it's the idiotic West who are the fugitives from the law of averages .Maybe this was always the fate of the West to become H G Wells Eloi facing the Morlocks

I agree with everything you wrote with the exception that I do not believe it makes any sense for RU to accept the bellow proposed. as they would only enable Ukr and the West to rearm again and fool them again as soo many times before... and also the demographics and sources or RU (natural) wealth advise that for them is better to act sooner than later... I am even surpraised what took them so long to act...

The whole mess is not a Biden problem per se. He does not do much different than any of his predecessors since Clinton. It is the United States that is kaputt. And it cannot be reformed. So Americans are in for a ride - and more an more Americans become aware that voting does not change much. Apart from playing with fire in Eastern Europe and East Asia the USA are currently supporting a genocide.

The Russian position is rather well described here. Let me add though, a couple of sentences from Putin from Feb 29 (s. kremlin.ru):

"And at the same time, they are selecting targets to strike on our territory and contemplating the most efficient means of destruction. ... They must grasp that we also have weapons – yes, they know this, as I have just said – capable of striking targets on their territory."

Her wants to say, there is a limit to what Russia is prepared to take when attacked with Western weapons by the Ukraine proxy. German chancellor Scholz seemingly has understood that and decided not to deliver Taurus missiles. Speaking of Germany: the "at war with Russia" remark was not by the German defence minister but by foreign minister Baerbock.

And no, a freezing of the Ukraine war will not happen: Russia wants to get rid of a problem and not create an ongoing problem.

“..providing they limited civilian deaths to what they believe to be an acceptable level.”

Who defines “acceptable level”? That line of thinking seems quite presumptuous & blatantly cold-blooded.

A leopard doesn't change its spots. Since the 1980s-90s the dominant ethnic Russian elite has been in  a post-Bolshevik (post-Jewish) mode, trying to be a respected member of the Western magnificient civ. But it will change, other things being equal. If nothing bigger happens, in 20-30 years Russia will be again throwing her bullishnes around against the neighboring peoples. It's in the spots, in the blood. Something like Germanic Wotan.
