The best strategy is to adopt a neutralist foreign policy and neutralist ethos in our dealings with Russia, China and other nations. That is unless you believe the Russians and Chinese are interested in crossing oceans to get at us. Bring the military home and stop the imperialism.

Let us remember the words of the long serving early 20th Century French ambassador to the US, Jean-Jules Jusserand, who observed that distant powers could not easily threaten the US because "on the north, she has a weak neighbor; on the south, another weak neighbor; on the east fish and on the west, fish".

Yes, I largely agree with that. We would be far better off leaving NATO and partnering with Russia to counter China's rise peacefully since Russia is only an enemy because our foolish neocon policies have made them one. We have no business having any ground troops in Europe or the Middle East and I would pull them out of East Asia as well. I am drafting a new national security strategy/doctrine which would recommend the closure of most overseas US military bases. America would have been far better off if the US had stayed out of both world wars. Then Nazi Germany, Communist China and maybe even the Soviet Union would never have existed and America and the world would be far safer and more secure with no real enemies to speak of.

It is a minute before the midnight of an EMP attack on the United States. If we do not harden our electrical grid and build a shield of anti ballistic missile interceptors, 90% of Americans will die after an EMP attack by one or more of our self-declared enemies -- no matter which one we manage to attack.

I could not agree more. We must assume a defensive posture and refocus on strategic and homeland defense with regards to Russia and China until we harden the grid and build a comprehensive missile defense system. As I stated in my interview yesterday, Americans are all living in a glass house right now in a nation with virtually no defense against nuclear missile and super EMP attack and if our leaders keep throwing rocks at Russia and China, eventually they will throw rocks back and shatter our great nation. One of the best ways to avoid that would be negotiating a sphere of influence agreement with Moscow and Beijing that keeps our treaty allies with the exception of Eastern Europe within the US sphere and strengthens our control of the Western Hemisphere.

Watched Biden's speech at the G20. Enough said.

Please throw your hat in the ring and run for President David Pyne.

We are running out of time.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I gave up running for office in 2015 after my third campaign loss! Yes Biden is a disgrace. We do need to contain China but not on Taiwan because it's s nuclear red line for then and saving America from nuclear incineration is a higher priority for us.

What if China isn't so much interested in "having" Taiwan as it is in "taking" it? With the military buildup, I wonder if they want a fight to flex/show off their new military muscles. As you said, they have built a huge military and ballistic missile programs. But they have zero fighting experience and their gear is untested in battle. I suspect they want to take everything for a test drive. What better time then with the US expending money and material in Ukraine?

No Communist China would prefer not to invade Taiwan or fight the US. President Xi Jinping is continuing to urge Taiwan to negotiate a peaceful reunification agreement even while he prepares to invade Taiwan by 2025 under the assumption that they will continue to refuse peaceful negotiation and that Biden will make good on his pledge to defend Taiwan militarily.

Would not Taiwan just destroy the 3 Gorges Dam in response to an attack? So China, in typical communist manner, thinks "the death of one man is a tragedy, the death of a million a mere statistic," but concommittant to this loss of tens of millions, ***they would also lose their industrial heartland, power generation, etc.***

What do you know about this counter threat to 3 Gorges?

And re, all their calculations that they would take out the US military, maybe so. Of course, we'll have our LGBT helicopter crews to protect us... But, in war, the incalculable always happens... Or as I Kings 20 says , 'Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off. ' ”

Well that would probably require Taiwan to buy MRBM's from someone or else develop their own. Until earlier this year, the only nations in the world that had MRBM have been China, India, Pakistan, Iran and Israel. The US Army just deployed a new hypersonic MRBM but we have too few to sell to Taiwan. Furthermore, China's missile defense system is likely second only to Russia's so unless Taiwan fired dozens of missiles or more at the dam their missiles would likely be shot down.

I certainly have no doubt other country's would have found the same eventually.
