The Origins of the Russo-Ukrainian War and How to End it with a Victory, not for Russia or Ukraine, but for America
Establishing a Grand Strategic Partnership for Peace with Russia is the Key to Winning our Cold War with Communist China
Gulf War veterans marching in a ticker tape parade in New York Cityin 1991
I have been a serious student of Russia all my life. When I was 17, I wrote a proposed peace treaty with the Soviet Union, several of the provisions of which were implemented just five and a half years later when the USSR collapsed unexpectedly. After the Cold War ended and Russia was no longer an enemy, the US had a golden opportunity to reorder global affairs by achieving a much less adversarial and much more cooperative relationship with Russia based on some sort of mutual security or collective security agreement. Instead, US Presidents beginning with Bill Clinton, opted to squander this historic chance to achieve a permanent peace with Moscow by opting to expand NATO and the borders of America’s liberal empire all the way to the Russian border for the first time in history. Russia would never have allied with China if we had admitted them to NATO by 1995 or refrained from expanding NATO into the Former Warsaw Pact. They only became strategic partners with China after Clinton declared NATO would be expanded to Russia's borders in 1995.
When he first came to power in 1999, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s overarching foreign policy vision was to integrate Russia with the West both with the EU, G-7 and even NATO membership. Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and Russian President Boris Yeltsin wanted Russia to join NATO as well, so Putin represented a continuation of Soviet policy of convergence with the West as revealed by none other than Anatoliy Golitsyn in his outstanding books “New Lies for Old” and “The Perestroika Deception.” Putin did not really give up his desire to join NATO until Bush made clear, he would not relent from his plan to expand NATO 1100 miles eastward from where it stood in 1999 before its first NATO expansion. That was the trigger that turned Putin against NATO beginning with his speech at the Munich Security Conference in 2007. Putin then spent the next 15 years trying to negotiate a comprehensive peace settlement and mutual security treaty with the US and NATO to address Russia’s legitimate security interests, thereby averting any perceived need for Russia to invade Ukraine. Putin continued to push for Russian economic integration with the West until we kicked Russia out of the G-8 in 2014.
George W. Bush was an America Last president and the worst national security president, in my estimation, during the past thirty years except for Joe Biden. Bush was infamous for his invasion of Iraq which he subsequently admitted was an illegal and unprovoked act of aggression that destroyed the balance of power in the Middle East and essentially surrendered Iraq to Iranian proxy Shiite Islamist control. He also pursued a policy of regime change across the world which ended up overthrowing Western-aligned governments most notably in Turkey where Islamist President Erdogan took power in 2002 and later in Egypt, both of which are now increasingly aligned with Russia and China today. Bush called for Ukraine to be admitted into NATO in 2008 but France and Germany vetoed it, so they came up with a compromise known as the Bucharest Declaration which stated Ukraine and Georgia would join NATO but did not provide a timeline for them to do so. This turned out to be the worst of both worlds for Georgia and Ukraine as it gave them no security guarantees but incited Russia to pre-empt their NATO ascensions to prevent B-52 nuclear bombers from being based on their territory 300 miles from Moscow.
If Bush had not proclaimed Ukraine and Georgia would soon join NATO in 2008 and if then Vice President Joe Biden had not authorized the Maidan coup in 2014, Putin would never have invaded either country and Ukraine today would be whole and free, and Putin would likely still be open to the idea of Russia joining NATO! In the outstanding book, "The War in Ukraine", we have a transcript of then Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland's phone conversation in Nuland and the US ambassador to Ukraine hand-picked the new Ukrainian post-Maidan Prime Minister and then Vice President Joe Biden as well as the Ukrainian parliament ratified it. Accordingly, Biden is the one US common denominators between the Russian invasions of Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 as he provoked both Russian aggressions. That is why I have been calling the war in Ukraine Biden’s war since it began.
After President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton championed the so-called Russian reset designed to greatly improve US relations with Russia, the Democrat Party did a complete about face in 2016, the Democrat Party manufactured the latest Russophobia paranoia with their fake Trump-Russia collusion narrative which has so consumed the Biden regime and neoconservative media narrative over the past couple of years. Russia didn't interfere in our presidential elections. However, Communist China did, installing their very own Manchurian Candidate in the White House while we continue to mistakenly focus our efforts on countering Russia and going all out to appease the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) terror regime.
Joe Biden shakes hands with his Communist Chinese paymaster, Xi Jinping, who many suspect may be pulling his strings
History has proven wars rarely happen in a vacuum. Oftentimes there are legitimate grievances on both sides that drive military conflict and Biden’s manufactured and easily avertable war in Ukraine is no exception. President Biden and his neoconservative Republican allies have repeatedly claimed that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked but as the timeline below demonstrates, the US and NATO provoked Russia to invade Ukraine over a fifteen-year period.
Here is a timeline of the events that caused the US to lose Russia as a potential military ally or strategic partner against Communist China serving to greatly weakening US national security.
• 1991--Gorbachev voluntarily give up the Soviet Empire and collapses the Soviet Union to attempt to pursue a convergence strategy with the West believing the Bush administration’s pledges that the US would not exploit Soviet collapse.
• 1990, 1991 & 2002--Russian leaders asked to join NATO but were rebuffed.
• 1995--Clinton announces he will expand NATO to include members of the Warsaw Pact causing Russia to form strategic partnership with Communist China the following year.
• 1999--Clinton bombs Russia’s ally Yugoslavia and expands NATO to Russia’s borders in 1999 causing Russia to sign a formal military alliance with China in 2001.
• 2000-2007--Putin pursues convergence strategy with the West trying to incorporate Russia into the economic and military infrastructure of Europe (i.e. EU and NATO)
• 2001-2009--Bush pursues a regime change policy including color revolutions in Georgia in 2003 and Ukraine in 2004 causing Putin to feel threatened.
• 2004--Bush expands NATO into the former Soviet Union adding three former Soviet republics.
• 2007--Bush announces NATO will be expanded into Georgia and Ukraine causing Putin to abandon his plan to have Russia join NATO and to propose a mutual security agreement with the US and NATO instead.
• 2008--Russia responds to Bucharest Declaration that Ukraine and Georgia will join NATO by invading Georgia following Georgian attack on Russian separatists.
• 2014--Biden authorizes CIA backed and financed coup to overthrow democratically elected Ukrainian President provoking Russia to annex Crimea.
• 2014-2015--Russia signs the Minsk peace accords to end the civil war in Donbass but Ukraine refuses to implement them.
• March 2021--Zelensky declares Ukraine will take back Crimea by force, if necessary, causing Russian troops to begin massing on Ukraine’s borders the next day.
• November 2021--Biden signs Strategic Partnership Agreement with Ukraine and holds joint NATO military exercises in Ukraine effectively making Ukraine a de facto NATO member while holding joint military exercises in Ukraine.
• December 2021--Russia responds by massing troops on Ukraine’s borders. Putin sends US and NATO draft mutual security agreements, most of the provisions of which are in the US national security interest but Biden rejects them in late January 2022 including Putin’s minimum demand for not invading Ukraine for US to provide a written guarantee that Ukraine will never join NATO.
• February 2022--Biden deliberately chooses war over peace by refusing to provide Russia with this one concession causing Putin to order the invasion of Ukraine.
• Accordingly, the war in Ukraine is essentially a Biden manufactured war the purpose of which is to reunite NATO, expand US liberal empire into Ukraine and use hundreds of thousands of brave Ukrainians as cannon fodder to weaken Russia and compel Russia to submit to US hegemony in Europe.
• March 2022--Ukraine and Russia sign a tentative peace agreement for Russian troops to withdraw from 93.6% of Ukraine’s prewar controlled territory but Biden pressures Zelensky to repudiate it. Accordingly, Biden deserves much of the blame for every Ukrainian who has died since.
• 2022-present—Biden continues to cross Russian redlines by sending more powerful weapons to Ukraine raising the likelihood of nuclear escalation and the outbreak of a Third World War between Russia and NATO.
Neoconservatives Contorted Logic on Russia and Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin giving a speech on September 21, 2022 announcing his support for a popular referendum of four Ukrainian oblasts to join Russia
When Putin came to power on December 31, 1999, I drew attention to the fact that he was a KGB siloviki who would prove a much more potent adversary of the US than his predecessor. I have never once excused Putin’s aggressions in Georgia or Ukraine. Rather, I have merely attempted to explain his rationale for invading, occupying and/or annexing border regions in both nations.
Ukraine became a de facto member of NATO when the US signed a strategic partnership with Ukraine in November 2021 which was followed by joint Ukraine-NATO military exercises on Ukrainian territory the following month. Putin responded to these stupid provocations by immediately massing Russian troops on Ukraine's border and then offering peace treaties between the US and Russia and between the US and NATO a couple weeks later. The late Executive Director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security, Dr. Peter Pry, rightly stated he thought Russia's proposed December 2021 peace agreements with the US and NATO were more in the US national security interest than Russia's. The terms of Russia’s draft mutual security agreement with NATO were totally acceptable as it did not require NATO to recede by a single inch contrary to popular misconception which has portrayed it as a demand for NATO to return to its 1991 borders. There were only three provisions in Russia’s draft mutual security agreement with the US which were not acceptable to us.
Even if we had accepted half of Russia's proposed peace agreement and signed a mutual security treaty with Russia, Putin never would have invaded Ukraine as Ukrainian NATO membership was virtually the entire reason he invaded. China has been the biggest winner of the war in Ukraine thus far. Instead of offering Russia a written guarantee that Ukraine would never formally join NATO which was an open secret in the West, Biden responded by telling the Russians to drop dead on January 25th which was followed by the Russian invasion of NATO a month later. Cause and effect. Biden has proven to be not only the worst enemy of the US, in terms of his foreign, national security and immigration policies, but of Ukraine as well, hundreds of thousands of whose brave young men and women in uniform he continues to use as cannon fodder in furtherance of his goal to “weaken Russia.”
Neoconservatives will never succeed in predicting the behavior of our enemies unless they get in their heads and attempt to understand how they think and their actual motivations and factual justifications for their actions not the ones they falsely imagine them to have by making the critical error of engaging in mirror imaging or trying to paint them, in cartoonish fashion, as some kind of modern-day Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler with no evidence whatsoever to support their misguided thesis. they claim Putin is hell bent not only on conquering all of Ukraine but reuniting the old Soviet Union but reconquering central and eastern Europe as well all the way to the Oder River. However, there is zero evidence for this supposition. If Putin was serious about reassembling the Soviet Empire, he would have annexed Kazakhstan by now as that would restore over half of Soviet territorial losses in a single blow and the West likely wouldn't do much about it. The Kazakh population is two-thirds the size of Ukraine's current population, and the Kazakhstani army is half the size of Ukraine's prewar army so its woefully insufficient to defend their huge country which has no natural barriers on its northern border so it would likely surrender within a couple months of being invaded.
Neocons ignore Putin’s statement that “he who does not want to reunify the Soviet Union has no heart but he who wants to reunify the USSR has no brain” clearly stating that he would be stupid to attempt such a feat. Putin could have easily conquered Ukraine if he had mobilized an army of half a million men before he invaded. The fact that he invaded with only 190,000 troops and offered peace terms to withdraw all Russian troops from Ukraine except the Donbass the day after he invaded while unilaterally withdrawing all Russian troops from the three northern Ukrainian oblasts in early April in furtherance of Russia's March 31st peace agreement with Ukraine conclusively proved he has no plan to reassemble the old Soviet Union.
While the Biden administration claims that the war in Ukraine is an existential fight for Ukraine, Putin’s decision to refrain from engaging in any major Russian offensives since summer 2022 despite having over 300,000 Russian reservists positioned across from Kharkiv oblast ready to make major territorial gains at Ukraine’s expense, prove the war is little more than a border dispute between Russia and Ukraine over a swath of territory the size of the Baltic republic of Latvia. Similarly, Putin could have easily annexed all of Georgia in 2008 but only occupied the 20% Russian majority areas that wanted independence from Georgia. Russia has no imperialist designs on Europe, but China has imperialist designs over the entire world.
Russia has been trying to end the war in Ukraine with a peace agreement which even Zelensky said was not necessarily unacceptable since early March 2022. Ukraine actually signed a peace agreement with Russia on March 31, 2022 for Ukraine to become permanently neutral outside of NATO in exchange for a Russian withdrawal from most Russian occupied Ukrainian territory and as part of the first phase of the implementation of that peace agreement Putin marched all Russian troops out of northern Ukraine including Kyiv oblast including about 35-40% of Russian occupied territory at the time but days later Zelensky reneged on the agreement and cut off all negotiations with Russia, prolonging the war for another eighteen months unnecessarily. What power mad dictator bent on reconquering the Soviet spoils of World War Two in central and eastern Europe, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill cravenly surrendered to genocidal Soviet dictator Josef Stalin in the greatest act of appeasement of a genocidal evil dictator in world history would unilaterally withdraw his troops from a vast part of the country he supposedly was hell bent on conquering? The answer of course is that none would.
Everything that Biden has said and done to Putin and Russia since the Russian invaded has proven all of Putin’s most paranoid fantasies 100% true and served to underscore his rationale for invading Ukraine in the first place as Biden has treated Ukraine as a NATO member state arming Ukraine to the teeth. At various times, he has called for Putin to be overthrown and be tried as a war criminal, for Russia’s economy to be strangulated, for Russia to collapse and has stated US troops in Poland would soon be sent to fight in Ukraine. Biden and his neoconservative Republican cheerleaders fantasize that if we just keep sending more weapons to Ukraine, they will somehow be able to force Russia to unconditionally surrender and drive their tank columns all the way to Moscow to storm the Kremlin and then try Putin as a war criminal while breaking up Russia into multiple pieces. However, this is a pipe dream that has no chance of happening given the fact Russia possesses 8,000 nuclear weapons and would be assured to use them to defend its territory. They appear to be willing to risk America commit national suicide as a matter of honor in a failed attempt to expand our liberal empire 1100 miles eastward all along Russia’s borders rather than have the US negotiate a peace with honor with Russia ending the war in Ukraine. And for what purpose given they are claiming Russia has never been weaker or less of a threat to the US and NATO so now’s the time for the US to send combat troops and US pilots to Ukraine to fight them directly?
Their argument holds no logic. If Russia is a huge threat with Imperial designs and capabilities to annex entire NATO countries, then shouldn't we avert fighting a nuclear World War Three with them over a country in which the US has no national interest on the farthest most eastward fringes of Europe? On the other hand, if Russia poses no threat to the US and NATO and Ukraine is winning, then why should the US give them more arms when we have already given them $196 billion in aid and they are already the more powerful militarily than the mighty Russian Federation with Russia going from the 2nd most powerful army in the world to the 2nd most powerful in Ukraine according to Sen. Lindsey Graham? Neoconservatives don’t seem to comprehend the zero-logic flow of their arguments.
While neoconservatives claim Putin has a victim mentality, US leaders would be wise to have more strategic empathy for Russia if they want to understand why Russia actually invaded Ukraine and the US role in provoking it with an expansion of NATO all along Russia’s borders. Following the Soviet collapse, Russia lost nearly half of its population and nearly one-third of its territory. Would the US countenance the Sino-Russian military alliance expanding its alliance along our northern and southern borders in Canada and Mexico? If Texas had seceded from the USA and allied with Russia and China importing advanced Russian and Chinese weapons, with over 1,000 Chinese and Russian troops on its territory, signing a strategic partnership with China and staging joint military exercises on our borders, how would the US react? The answer is that we would invade bomb and annex all of Texas and claim it was a defensive war. That’s pretty much what Putin did except he only annexed one-fifth of Ukraine. This is not any apology for Russia’s brutal and murderous dictator or his illegal aggression against Ukraine. It’s just Foreign Policy Realism 101, a class it would seem neoconservatives forgot to take when they were in college.
Zelensky’s Missed Chance to Win the War in Ukraine
Former sitcom actor turned President Volodymyr Zelensky in his trademark khaki T-shirt, demanding tens of billions of dollars worth of additional Western aid for Ukraine
I have always supported saving as lives of as many tens of thousands of brave Ukrainians with the best possible deal we can negotiate with Russia to ensure as much territory for them as we possibly can while ensuring their security and independence for many decades to come. Many Americans do not know that Russia and Ukraine signed a peace agreement in Istanbul on March 31, 2022, for Russia to withdraw from all Ukraine’s pre-war controlled territory but 6.4% according to neocon Russophobe Fiona Hill’s in an August 2022 Foreign Affairs article entitled “The World that Putin Wants.” In this article, she revealed she had heard from multiple highly placed US sources that Putin had offered to withdraw from 100% of Ukraine’s pre-war controlled territory in exchange for a pledge of permanent neutrality outside of NATO. However, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President Biden had vetoed it because they wanted to use Ukraine to wage a long-term proxy war for NATO against Russia in the hopes of seriously weakening it militarily, which Zelensky enthusiastically agreed to.
The terms of this agreement were far more favorable to Ukraine than anything they could hope to get Russia agree to today over a year following Russia’s annexations of the former Ukrainian oblasts of Kherson, Zaporizhia, Luhansk and Donetsk which I warned back in April 2022 that Putin would annex if Ukraine did not accept Russia’s lenient terms. If Zelensky had instead implemented his peace agreement with Russia, it would have saved the lives of well over 170,000 Ukrainians to date and probably hundreds of thousands more and Ukraine would be far larger than it is today.
Biden continues to falsely claim the US is fighting for democracy in Ukraine. However, democracy ceased to exist in Ukraine when Zelensky invoked martial law shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is as much of a Soviet-style ruler as Putin. They both rule their countries in similar fashion with an iron fist imprisoning or assassinating their political opponents and banning all opposition parties while forcing their national media to broadcast propaganda 24-7. The only difference between the two is Putin is an international aggressor and Zelensky is not. Meanwhile, Biden’s manufactured proxy war in Ukraine, his stupid Russophobic policies, NATO expansion and now Bidens manufactured war in Ukraine by refusing to issue a written guarantee that Ukraine would never join NATO and rejecting Russia's proposed mutual security agreements in their entirety have served to pushed Russia into Chinese President Xi Jinping’s waiting arms.
Russia is winning the war in Ukraine
As I have been saying since January 2022, there is no amount of increased US military aid that we could send to Ukraine to enable it to defeat the mightiest nuclear and super EMP superpower on Earth which has 35 times more territory, an economy 11 times larger and over five times more people, tanks, combat aircraft and artillery than Ukraine which is losing the war. Ukraine has lost 30% of its GDP, 36 % of its population and since Russia invaded along with 50% of its energy production. Russia’s economy is stronger than ever and despite losing up to 60,000 troops and over 2,000 AFVs its military has been expanded in size to Soviet-era levels. Ukraine currently controls 0% of Russian territory but Russia controls 18% of Ukrainian territory. How do defenders of Biden’s war in Ukraine believe that equates to Ukraine winning? The truth is that the war has proven an unmitigated disaster for Ukraine which is now the poorest most destitute country in Europe whereas pre-2014 it was whole and free and much stronger economically.
The idea that Russia has been gravely weakened by the war in Ukraine is largely a farce. Some of my neoconservatives keep predicting that Russia is on the verge of being overthrown, for allegedly losing the war in Ukraine, and Russia is about to collapse. Their predictions remind me of Napoleon’s and Hitler’s both of which invaded Russia predicting a quick victory. When he invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, Adolf Hitler predicted the Soviet Union would collapse like a house of cards when Germany invaded it. Instead, his invasion of the Soviet Union ended with the dismemberment of Germany into six pieces and its erasure from the map of Europe for several years. Russia began the war as the 11th largest economy in the world by nominal GDP. Now they are the 8th largest and are rated the 5th largest by PPP according to the World Bank. Over the past decade, Russia has increased the size of its population by eight million new citizens in the newly annexed territories and have expanded the size of their armed forces by 50% to Soviet-era levels. The Russians are now on track to achieving nuclear supremacy over the US along with their Chinese allies while the badly undersized US nuclear deterrent is increasingly obsolescent and unreliable. They have super EMP weapons which could defeat the US and NATO in a matter of minutes severely degrading the US NC3 system and they could employ only nine nuclear warheads to destroy 80% of the US strategic nuclear deterrent including both active and reserve warheads. We underestimate Russia at our peril.
A recent liberal mainstream media report quoted a Ukrainian source stating it was widely known that Ukrainian soldiers only last an average of two to three days before they are killed or seriously wounded in the frontlines of Kyiv’s counteroffensive. This explains why so many Ukrainian soldiers have been deserting, bribing officials to avoid the draft or fleeing the country while risking being shot by Ukrainian border guards. A senior Ukrainian military recruiting official stated earlier this week that 80-90% of Ukraine’s original conscript army has been wiped out by the Russians while Ukraine is falling 87% short of its recruiting goals forcing them to draft sick young men and women to fight the Russians. The same article reports that Putin is telling Ukraine when they get tired of sacrificing tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops in their failed counteroffensive, they should give him a call so they can negotiate a compromise peace agreement.
Many of the casualty figures the West have been highly misleading using falsified estimates from the Ukrainian government designed to mislead the Ukrainian public as well as Ukraine’s western sponsors to make it appear that Ukraine is winning to try to maintain Western public support. For example, Ukraine and liberal Western mainstream media sources have claimed fifteen “high ranking” Russian generals have been killed. In fact, only seven low-ranking Russian generals have been killed including five one-star generals and a couple two-star generals. However, if the Biden administration leveled with the American people and let them know that the war was unwinnable for Ukraine and that Ukraine has suffered three times as many military casualties as the Russians, their support for continuing aid to Ukraine would quickly dissipate. In fact, more reliable reports suggesting the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed in action to date have exceeded 200,000 with over 40,000 of them being incurred since the Ukrainian summer counteroffensive began nearly three months ago.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has lost eight million people to Russian annexations since 2014 and eight million refugees abroad. It’s possible some will come back but reportedly very few want to even if the war ended tomorrow. Were it not for Ukraine's de facto NATO membership and the Biden-authorized coup that overthrow Ukraine's President, Ukraine would have a population of 44 million people. Instead, it has only 28 million left.
During World War Two, the Soviet Union suffered massive losses during the first year of the war but US Lend Lease and Churchill’s generous gifts of massive amounts of military equipment and more importantly the strategic materials from the US which Stalin himself admitted accounted for 70% of wartime Soviet tank (equivalent to 61,000 Red Army tanks) and aircraft production saved genocidal Communism in the Soviet Union, enabling it to spread its genocidal tentacles across the world. Stalin did not retreat from Moscow as German reconnaissance vehicles came within site of the Kremlin spires. It would have been wonderful if the Soviet Union had collapsed at that time and then that we followed that up with the defeat of Nazi Germany. Then America would have no enemies right now as Communist China and North Korea would never have existed. While Hitler never controlled more than 2.6% of the world's territory, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, President Harry Truman and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill armed the Red Army to the teeth enabling them to overrun nearly two-thirds of Europe while enabling Stalin to conquer nearly one-third of the world's population and territory.
The fall of the China to Communism was the greatest geopolitical disaster of the 20th century and it was 100% avertable. It stemmed from America's unholy alliance with the Evil Soviet Empire during World War Two in which we allowed them to annex parts or all of nine countries and occupy Manchuria and North Korea when had we accepted Japan's surrender seven months earlier as General MacArthur recommended US and Nationalist Chinese could have occupied Manchuria and the entire Korean peninsula instead. Even so, the Nationalists were on the verge of winning the Chinese Civil War in 1946 but then Truman and Marshall traitorously cut off all military and logistical assistance to the Nationalist freedom fighters to turn the tables and ensure Communist victory. I fear Biden is following Truman's lead in helping Communist China defeat us.
Putin today, with the help of Russian propaganda and the incredibly foolish and self-defeating US policy of NATO expansion to Ukraine, has the support of 70-80% of the Russian people according to a non-regime controlled dissident Russian pollster. Putin controls all the power ministries with an iron fist. There is virtually no chance of him being overthrown anytime soon and his successor would likely be far more aggressive and brutal towards Ukraine, the US and NATO than Putin has having proven to be a far more rational actor than America’s Manchurian President. Instead of trying to engage in regime change wars in Ukraine and elsewhere around the world, Republicans should focus on regime change here at home to liberate our great country and restore our God-given constitutional republic. America is suffering under our own de-facto fascist dictator Joe Biden who is in the process of crushing his political opposition at home enthusiastically adopting Putinism and authoritarianism right here in America while he falsely claims to be fighting its spread abroad.
I have been an unabashed patriot and champion for America first conservatism and unabashed US nuclear superiority since the mid-1980s. I have spent my entire life standing up for America including serving in uniform as a US army combat arms officer and later, out of uniform, on the US Army HQ staff. America First conservatives like Tucker Carlson, Sen. Rand Paul and myself have been accused of being Putin apologists, by former Vice President Pence who are essentially witting or unwitting agent of influence of Zelensky and Ukraine and apologists for Biden’s policy of national suicide which risks provoking war with Russia and China at the same time. We need to rid our national leadership of all foreign influence, not just China’s, but Ukraine’s as well as Chinese and Ukrainian agents of influence currently permeate the Biden regime’s senior ranks. I don’t blame America for provoking Russia to invade Ukraine. Rather, I blame the foolish policies of the liberal Democrat and neoconservative Republicans who have disgraced the oval office continuously from 1993- present with the sole exception of President Donald J. Trump for squandering America’s Cold War Victory and bringing us to the edge of thermonuclear destruction by Russia and China without so much as a care for US national security interests let alone the survival of our great country.
A Better Way Forward
Neoconservatives claim that supporting a permanent cease fire and armistice agreement with Ukraine, such as I proposed in The National Interest a year ago would be appeasing Russia and selling out Ukraine but given the fact that they've spent the past 9 and a half months trying to win back territory on the battlefield with zero success that argument falls flat demonstrating conclusively that Ukraine reached its high-water mark in November following its successful Kherson counteroffensive. The over 100,000 Ukrainian troops have since died in vain in furtherance of an unwinnable war. With such an armistice agreement, we would be ensuring continued Ukrainian control of 88% of its prewar territory with a US, UK and French security guarantee of Ukraine against any future Russian aggression so Ukraine can rebuild its destroyed country and 8 million Ukrainian refugees can return and 50% of its prewar businesses can reopen. It would be a significant win for Ukraine and the West to have prevented Putin from what Biden and his neocon Republican allies claim was an attempt to take over all of Ukraine while exacting about the same number of casualties as the US suffered during the Vietnam War.
President Ronald Reagan reportedly used the ideas in President Richard Nixon’s outstanding book “The Real War” to win the Cold War with the Soviet Union. In his book, Nixon spoke of the need to accommodate America’s nuclear superpower adversaries with reciprocal agreements in which both sides recognized each other’s vital interests in order to keep the nuclear superpower peace. Charles Kupchan, who served on the US National Security Council during the Clinton presidency, recently wrote a book called “How Enemies Become Friends” that provides a number of historical examples suggesting how we could accomplish that. Back in June, Kupchan helped lead an unofficial delegation of former senior US diplomats to Russia to sound out Moscow on the terms they might be willing to accept to end the war in Ukraine reporting back to the Biden administration on their findings. Sadly, Biden clearly refused to implement any of their recommended diplomatic solutions to end the war.
President Donald Trump reportedly wanted to implement a comprehensive peace agreement with Russia when he got elected President that would have resolved all outstanding issues between us and effectively neutralized the Sino-Russian military alliance transforming the current bipolar international order which greatly favors Russia and China militarily into a tripolar international alliance in which none of the three nuclear superpowers would be allied together but the Deep State in both parties united together to stop him with the fake Trump-Russia collusion narrative that paralyzed his ability to engage in bold foreign policy initiatives that would have made the US much safer and more secure and would have enabled us to more effectively counter the CCP. Trump even said in 2018 and 2019 he wanted to withdraw from NATO according to John Bolton. If we had signed an agreement with Russia for us to withdraw from NATO in exchange for a Russian withdrawal from the SCO and their termination of their Treaty of Friendship with Red China, there is a reasonable chance they would have agreed to do so.
There is a zero percent chance the US will be successful in winning a war against Russia, Communist China, North Korea and likely Iran at the same time. We would be far wiser and far safer and more secure if we formed a strategic partnership with Russia against China rather than continue making it an enemy. Only by disrupting the enemy's alliance as ancient Chinese general Sun Tzu advocated in his book, “The Art of War” can we hope to restore a military and nuclear balance of power more favorable to the US to help ensure our great nation survives the decade.
By adopting the fourth plank of my Assured National Survival grand strategy, the US could flip Russia from an enemy to a neutral country, if not friend and strategic partner to help us counter Communist China’s drive to global hegemony, thus nullifying Russia’s alliance with the PRC and massively weaken China. The more the US improves its relations with the Russian Federation and the more we accept their legitimate security concerns about Ukraine and NATO expansion, the more we undermine its military alliance with the PRC and make it far less likely Russia will join with China in an all-out global war against the US if Biden defends Taiwan militarily.
GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy being interviewed on Fox News to discuss his visionary plan to split the Sino-Russian military alliance
Vivek Ramaswamy is the only presidential candidate in the running who has demonstrated a firm grasp of these strategic realities and who has a workable strategy to win our Cold War against Communist China. Vivek has laid out a plan to end America’s New Cold War with Russia to enable us to win our Cold War with Communist China with a specific plan to end the war with Ukraine, a mutual security treaty in which both sides withdraw their troops from Eastern Europe in exchange for Russia breaking off its military alliance with Communist China. Then, not only could we remove Russia and India from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, but we could also get potentially get them to leave BRICS as well in return for signing a free trade treaty with Russia and greatly increasing western investment in the Russian Federation. This would serve to gravely weaken the PRC and set back its plans to become the global hegemon while forcing it to think twice before moving forward with its plans to invade Taiwan in the next couple years. We can only hope that an America First conservative Republican like Vivek gets elected President to save our great country and the world from a potential nuclear/super EMP apocalypse.
While Russia is unlikely to formally exit its alliance with China, if we make Russia a strategic partner by ending the war with a Korean style armistice agreement, signing a mutual security treaty with them, signing a free trade agreement with them, recognize a Russian sphere of influence over Central Asia, which is their main exploitable fissure with the PRC, and increase Western investment in Russia, I believe we could both effectively neutralize their military alliance with China and we could get it to join a Western-led economic bloc against Beijing. Communist China is led by a genocidal terror regime. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia has not been led by such a regime, so it makes good strategic sense that we partner with Russia against the Communist Chinese threat to gravely weaken the CCP and defeat its bid for global hegemony. Such a grand strategic partnership for peace with Russia would constitute a historic foreign policy triumph for the U.S. that if combined with a compromise peace settlement with Beijing on the Taiwan issue could ensure the great power peace and ensure America’s survival for half a century to come.

Thank you for responding back - I’m surprised and appreciate it!
Agree with you on the potential security agreements with Russia - in fact, this is exactly what President Putin offered back in 2021 November / December (one was sent to NATO and the other to the USA directly. Both have been dismissed (quite foolishly IMHO).
OTOH, I just can’t see how Russia would trust the west again to the extent to be lured away from China, and especially from BRICS, whose framework is lead by Russia (and China). I think it would be very damaging to Russia’s credibility.
But never say never, and you are not the first one to float this theory. Time will tell.
Thanks again for responding back. I cannot imagine how busy you must be writing and going through readers’ comments.
Another brilliant piece of writing that needs to be disseminated to the sleeping masses.
The United States of America is headed for a devastating nuclear attack on the mainland during the last trump administration.
President Trump will try to avert a war with the Russian Federation but will be unsuccessful. Daniel 8:5-8. The Biden administration has already escalated World War III to the point of no return. The globalists have deliberately pushed the Russian Federation into the arms of the CCP. They have chosen the CCP as their instrument to run their Novus Ordo Seclorum. Revelation 13:1-3.
President Trump along with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu will take out Iran's nuclear plants and that action will lead to a massive rocket attack on the state of Israel in Isaiah 17:4 which will lead to a devastating nuclear strike from Bibi Netanyahu on the city of Damascus in Isaiah 17:1-3, Jeremiah 49:23-27, Revelation 6:1-2.
The peace will be short lived, because the Russian Federation along with the CCP will retaliate in Revelation 6:3-4, Isaiah 18:1, Revelation 18:9-24.
Both President Trump and President Putin will have been on the world stage 28 years in 2028.
The Biblical character Jehu the parallel to President Donald J.Trump was on the world stage for 28 years.
President Trump has repeatedly warned of World War III over fifty times.
This is not a coincidence!
